As students arrive between 6:30 and 6:50 they are greeted by one of their teachers and have a moment to share time with their friends before the day begins at 6:55. We begin with a focus on values and integration, either through an opening in the classroom with the “Message of the Day” and related activities or with a mini-assembly.
In preschool and primary, children learn in their homeroom with a specialised English speaking teacher and Spanish teacher for most of the day. Sometimes they will have Physical Education or Swimming classes outside, work on their computing skills in the Computer Laboratory, spend some time reading or researching in the library or resting and playing in the play areas.
Middle and High School students move between different dedicated learning environments such as the Language Arts and History room or one of the two fully equipped science labs, where they learn with teachers specialised in their field.
Students have a snack time and lunch time when they can eat, rest and play. A variety of snacks and a lunch service is offered by the school. There is a wide variety of supervised sports zones, shaded areas and play zones where children can play or relax during their free time.
Home time is at 2:35pm where children either board their bus or wait in their specific pick up zone with a teacher. Fridays are shorter days for Pre-school and Primary students, with dismissal at 12:35pm. The school day will also contain some homework tasks, depending on the age of the student.
Some days students may stay behind for one of the wide range of extra curricular activities offered by the school. On Saturday mornings the school provides a Pre-Icfes programme for High School students.
